LIBRARY & DECODING ARE REQUIRED: The receiver outputs a raw digital waveform, not pre-decoded button values. To understand which button was pressed, you MUST use an Arduino library like IRremote or IRLib to decode the signal. This is a learning process!

LINE-OF-SIGHT & INTERFERENCE: Infrared light requires a relatively clear path. Solid objects will block it. Avoid direct sunlight or other strong IR sources, as they can interfere with the signal.

5V OPERATION FOR OPTIMAL PERFORMANCE: Both modules are optimized for 5V power supply. While they may work at 3.3V, the transmitter strength and receiver sensitivity will be significantly reduced, leading to shorter range.

TRANSMITTER NEEDS CODE TO PULSE: The transmitter LED must be rapidly turned on/off (pulsed) at 38KHz via your Arduino code to send a recognizable signal. It does not emit constant light. Example codes are widely available in libraries.
